You’re walking along a stone path, made with pavers. The roads are narrow and winding - clearly no vehicles ever pass through these. Indeed, the buildings are so close to one another, such a thing wouldn’t even be possible.
Everything is.. Pretty dirty, but you don’t notice this, so it must be normal. It’s very busy, lots of people, many of them slightly dark of skin - not as dark as you, you note.
You eventually get to a path alongside one of the many channels. You can see the city much more clearly now.
You keep walking.
As you do, a boy… a pretty cute boy, actually, well, he’s an adult, but probably not more than 20, is up on a ladder, working on a sign for a shop. And.. well, he falls. And it’s not a good fall. He yelps, and at the angle he’s at... he’ll smash his head on the pavers, for sure. You, for a moment, consider doing nothing.
Of course, you have that moment to indulge in that cruel, selfish thought, because he’s frozen in mid-air.
And not just him. A bird nearby, stone frozen in the air.
Droplets of water, flung up into the air from a rower in the channel, are also frozen in front of you.
You walk forward, sighing, feeling the familiar pull of doing this on your stamina.
You re-orient the boy, and set him on the ground. You also take his falling tools, plucking them from the air, and set them on the ground beside him.
Everything unfreezes and you keep walking, as if nothing happened. The boy seems INCREDIBLY confused, but after a moment tries to call out for you.
...You walk faster.

- You're also in a domicile that's similar to a tent, but more permanent, made of quilted leather and other heavy cloths.
- A very old woman, dark-skinned, the same skin-color as Garfield, is offering clothing.
- It's a language you can't recognize, but you understand it.
- She wants you to wear silk, but your refuse, instead opting for simple quilted cloth and leather like a farmer might wear
- She does insist on a rather nice hat, though.
- ...Clothing feels very weird, but you feel happy.
